Interesting facts about my topic (The Bauhaus)
- Existed in three buildings: Berlin, Weimar, Dessau
- Architecture, painting, sculpture were the main instructions at the Bauhaus
- The students were trained in craft, drawing, painting, science and theory
- It was the most influential institute in modernist architecture and design
- Founded by Walter Gropius in 1919
- 1933 it was closed down by its own leadership because of pressure from the Nazi regime
- It had three directors: Walter Gropius 1919-1928, Hannes Mayer 1928-1930, Ludwig Miles Van Der Rohe 1930-1933
- Bauhaus translates to 'School of building'
